- FM Nirmala Sitharaman said infrastructure is a focus area for the government.
- The govt, in only 4 months, held 70 different stakeholders' consultations, with ministries, state govts, developers, NBFCs, bankers and others.
- The govt has a Rs105 lakh cr worth projects in the pipeline.
- In the next few weeks, another 3 lakh cr worth of projects will be added.
- Both Centre and State together have spent Rs 51 lakh cr in the last 6 years. Another Rs100 lakh cr committed.
- Govt also intends to launch the National Infrastructure Project (NIP) mechanism consisting of Centre and states as well as the private sector.
- In the NIP mechanism, the Centre's share will be 39%, states share 39% and private sector share will be 22% currently. The govt expects private sector share to increase to 30% by 2025.
- Annual investor meet is expected to be organised in the second half of 2020.
- Govt is looking at various suggestions given by various working groups under the task force.
- Rs42.7 lakh cr worth projects are already under implementation, according to FM. 63% of the total infra projects are already firmed up.
- Power, Rail, Renewables, Urban,Irrigation Mobility, Water, and health to form bulk of Rs105 lakh crore projects.
