Reliance Jio has added 91 lakh, new subscribers, in October, and its total subscriber base is now 36.43cr, according to data released by the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI).
Vodafone Idea added 1.9 lakh, new subscribers, while Airtel added 81,974 subscribers, taking their subscriber base to 37.27cr and 32.56cr, respectively, TRAI data added.

In October 2019, 4.08mn subscribers submitted their requests for Mobile Number Portability (MNP). With this, the cumulative MNP requests increased from 457.65mn at the end of Sep-19 to 461.73 million at the end of Oct-19, since the implementation of MNP, the TRAI reported.
Total wireless subscribers (2G, 3G & 4G) increased from 1,173.75 million at the end of Sep-19 to 1,183.40 million at the end of Oct-19, thereby registering a monthly growth rate of 0.82%.
Wireless subscription in urban areas increased from 659.18 million at the end of Sep-19 to 662.92 million at the end of Oct-19, and wireless subscription in rural areas also increased from 514.56 million at the end of Sep-19 to 520.48 million at the end of Oct-19. Monthly growth rates of urban and rural wireless subscription were 0.57% and 1.15% respectively.
Bharti Airtel has the maximum proportion (95.05%) of its active wireless subscribers (VLR) as against its total wireless subscribers (HLR) on the date of peak VLR in the month of Oct-19 and MTNL has the minimum proportion of VLR (27.82%) of its HLR during the same period.
As on October 31, 2019, the top five Wired Broadband Service providers were BSNL (8.62 million), Bharti Airtel (2.40mn), Atria Convergence Technologies (1.49mn), Hathway Cable & Datacom (0.87 million) and Reliance Jio Infocomm Ltd (0.79mn).
